With today's real estate market catering to buyers, you will want to call on a Professional Home Stager to get ahead of the competition and make sure your home stands out among the multitudes. And because there are so many to choose from, here are a few tips to consider when talking to a Home Stager. But remember, your home is now a commodity so don't get offended if they don't see your home the same way you do.

Consultation Fee: Most consults range from $75 - $200.00. Look for a fee that applies towards the staging job or better yet...is FREE!

Reputation: Ask for testimonials, references and/or recommendations. Make sure you're getting experience and knowledge with your service not just an opinion that matches yours.

Ask: Get the proposals in writing while making sure the labor and installation are included. If they're truly professionals, they won't mind spelling it out for you. No beating around the bush and get at least 3 bids for comparison.

Preview: Ask to look at a current listing by the Stager. Again, that's where experience matters. You don't want to waste time, money, and energy making up for a bad decision. Nor do you want a price reduction 3 months later when the listing still hasn't sold.

A well-staged home looks beautiful, clutter free and depersonalized. You want buyers to see themselves in your home and not your family or personal things. You want to appeal to everyone and not just a few. You want your home to sell quicker and for the most amount of money. That is the point of staging and choosing the right Stager!
